Wild Beaches and Home Cooking

Escape from the mainstream to the wild charms of Buller and the top of the West Coast South Island.  Come and meet some real kiwis – do more , drive less. Wild private beaches, world heritage caves and wetlands, wonderful walks and masses of action from river jetski to cave rafting if that’s what you want. Fly from Wellington to Westport, or catch the Tranzalpine train through the Alps to Greymouth and grab a rental, or ferry and drive across the top of the South Island.

Other suggested activities (optional not included in price of package): Unimog trips to Stockton Mine, the Denniston Incline, and the high plateau backcountry. Book an Underworld Rafting trip and float beneath the surface of the earth through subterranean glowworm cathedrals. Explore the seal colony at Tauranga Bay or visit the Pancake Rocks and Blowholes of Punakaiki only a 45 minute breathtaking drive from Westport (voted one of the top coastal drives in the world by Lonely Planet) - there you can picnic, kayak, horse trek or just enjoy the long unpopulated sandy beaches.

Or just curl up with a book in Charming Creek’s retro beach caravan, walk on the beach, enjoy great food, hospitality, and hot tub among the flax bushes right by the sea. Fall asleep to the sound of the waves.
